PEZA, P&A Grant Thornton team up to strengthen business capability-building

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and P&A Grant Thornton have forged a partnership aimed at enhancing professional development and knowledge-sharing for ecozone stakeholders, reinforcing efforts to build more resilient and competitive enterprises.

The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on July 30 at the Hall of Flags of the PEZA Head Office in Pasay City. Under the agreement, P&A Grant Thornton will serve as a knowledge partner of the PEZA Academy, contributing learning programs for PEZA employees, Registered Business Enterprises (RBEs), and members of the ecozone industry.

The initiative will focus on topics such as accounting, audit, taxation, compliance, advisory services, and other areas relevant to business operations. Drawing on the firm’s experience in helping organizations navigate regulatory and operational challenges, the partnership seeks to strengthen standards compliance, improve business resilience, and support sustainable growth.

“By sharing our experience and expertise, we hope to contribute to PEZA’s continuous efforts to empower its registered enterprises, enhance their competitiveness, and create lasting value for the broader business community,” said Murcia.

Panga, meanwhile, said the collaboration supports the agency’s commitment to developing both its workforce and registered enterprises through the PEZA Academy.

“Beyond enhancing individual capabilities, this partnership contributes to PEZA’s broader mission of fostering a competitive and investment-friendly business environment. A well-equipped workforce and well-informed enterprises translate into better services, stronger governance, and greater confidence among investors—qualities that reinforce the Philippines’ position as a preferred investment destination,” Panga noted.
