Lanson Place Mall of Asia earns Outstanding Architecture at Build4Asia Awards

Design continues to play an increasingly important role in shaping how travelers experience destinations, particularly in urban hospitality developments where architecture, sustainability, and guest comfort intersect. This was recently recognized as Lanson Place Mall of Asia received the Outstanding Architecture – Hotels / Resorts (Project Outside of Hong Kong) Gold Award at the Build4Asia 2026 Awards.

Presented by one of Asia’s leading platforms for excellence in the built environment, the recognition highlights the property’s architectural design by Arquitectonica, honoring its balance of aesthetics, functionality, environmental responsibility, and user experience.

Located within the Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City, the development draws inspiration from its setting along Manila Bay. Its facade features bronze metallic curtain wall panels and flowing architectural fins that echo the movement of waves, creating a distinctive presence within one of the country’s busiest mixed-use districts.

For SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation (SMHCC), the award reflects a broader vision of creating hospitality destinations that go beyond accommodation and contribute to the character of the communities in which they operate.

“Design has the power to shape how people connect with places and create lasting memories,” said SM Hotels and Conventions Corporation Executive Vice President Peggy Angeles. “This award reflects our commitment to building hospitality destinations that are purposeful, future-ready, and centered on the evolving needs of our guests.”

Designed to serve both business and leisure travelers, as well as long-stay residents, Lanson Place Mall of Asia combines contemporary city living with hospitality-driven services. The property forms part of SMHCC’s strategy to expand high-quality accommodations across key destinations nationwide while responding to evolving traveler preferences.

Sustainability also remains a key consideration in the property’s development. Energy-efficient features, including insulated glass unit glazing, integrated shading systems, and infrastructure provisions for future district cooling, were incorporated to improve operational efficiency while reducing environmental impact.

Complementing these initiatives is the property’s Green Key Certification, an internationally recognized eco-label awarded to tourism establishments that meet established environmental and operational standards.

The Build4Asia Awards recognize notable achievements in architecture, construction technologies, and innovation across the region. With its latest recognition, Lanson Place Mall of Asia joins a roster of projects contributing to the future of sustainable and design-led hospitality in Asia.

“This milestone further strengthens Lanson Place Mall of Asia’s position as a leading hospitality destination where modern living, responsible development, and intuitive service come together seamlessly,” said Lanson Place Mall of Asia General Manager Nils Rothbarth.

Lanson Place Mall of Asia is located at Block 12, Palm Coast Avenue corner Seaside Boulevard, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
