What began as a test of endurance became a celebration of community, wellness and social responsibility as runners gathered for the inaugural Wilcon 10-Miler Run on June 21, 2026, at Parqal in Aseana City, Parañaque.

The event, “Building Home. Breaking Limits.”, marked Wilcon’s first foray into the running scene, bringing together participants from across Metro Manila for a race that went beyond personal achievement. Organized in partnership with MNL City Run, the event encouraged Filipinos to embrace an active lifestyle while supporting causes that benefit communities and the environment.
Before the starting gun sounded, runners assembled at the venue for the opening program and race briefing. Hosts Migs Gomez and Tintin Padilla welcomed participants and walked them through the day’s activities, while Coach Maurice Lue led a warm-up session to help prepare runners for the challenge ahead.
Equipped with race kits and event gear, participants took on the 16KM, 10KM and 5KM categories, each setting out with individual goals but united by a shared spirit of perseverance.

As the race unfolded, the course was filled with runners of varying experience levels, from newcomers testing their limits to seasoned athletes pursuing personal bests. Hydration stations and race marshals were stationed along the route to help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience throughout the event.
Beyond the competition, the run highlighted Wilcon’s advocacy for health, wellness and meaningful community engagement. Funds raised from the event were earmarked for humanitarian and environmental initiatives, reinforcing the event’s purpose-driven mission.
During the opening program, President of Wilcon Foundation and Wilcon Depot SEVP-COO Ms. Rosemarie Bosch-Ong emphasized the broader impact of the initiative.

“This event is more than just a race. Every step taken today represents a shared commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others. Through this initiative, we hope to contribute to causes that support environmental conservation, humanitarian assistance, and sustainable wildlife management.”

Wilcon representatives, including Bosch-Ong, Wilcon VP-Marketing Mr. Alen Alban, and Wilcon Depot SVP-Product Development Ms. Eden Mandap, together with Wilcon Sales and Operations AVP, formally turned over donation checks to representatives of Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc., ABS-CBN Bantay Kalikasan, and Crocodylus Porosus Philippines Inc.
Proceeds from the run will support the beneficiary organizations’ respective programs. Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc. assists underserved Filipinos through disaster response efforts, as well as medical and social service initiatives. ABS-CBN Bantay Kalikasan promotes biodiversity conservation and environmental stewardship through community-based projects and waste management programs. Meanwhile, Crocodylus Porosus Philippines Inc. advocates for the sustainable management and conservation of endangered crocodile species in the country.

After crossing the finish line, participants took part in a cool-down Zumba session led by Coach Jaymie Obinguar. The celebration continued at the Wilcon-themed Race Village, where runners enjoyed other activities and giveaways in recognition of their accomplishment.

The event also honored the top performers across all race categories. Awarding ceremonies began with the 16KM division, recognizing the leading female and male finishers, followed by the 10KM and 5KM categories.
To commemorate the occasion, all participants received exclusive tokens and finisher medals, serving as reminders of their personal achievement and their contribution to causes that extend beyond race day.
