Filinvest Alabang puts Philippine real estate on the global stage with FIABCI gold wins

Filinvest Alabang Inc. became the first Philippine property developer to be recognized at the FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards, winning two Gold Awards at the ceremony in Vienna, Austria on June 11, 2026. Filinvest City was honored in the Master Plan category, while Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel received top honors in the Purpose-Built category.

The awards were accepted by Catherine Ilagan, President and CEO of Filinvest Alabang Inc., who was earlier named a Fellow in Real Estate by FIABCI Philippines.

Filinvest Alabang Inc. President and CEO Catherine Ilagan receives the Gold Awards for Filinvest City and the Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel during the 2026 FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards Ceremony held in Vienna — marking the Philippines’ historic first win at the prestigious global real estate competition.

Global benchmark for urban development

Presented by the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), the World Prix d’Excellence Awards recognize developments that demonstrate excellence in design, planning, functionality, sustainability, and community impact. Often described as the real estate industry’s Oscars, it draws entries from over 60 countries. Projects first qualify through FIABCI Philippines before advancing to the global stage for rigorous evaluation.

Building a city around connectivity and sustainability

Filinvest City’s win reflects over three decades of urban planning in southern Metro Manila. Spanning 244 hectares in Alabang, the CBD was built around accessibility, connectivity, and sustainability, integrating offices, residences, institutions, and lifestyle destinations within an ecosystem.

A continuous park network links the district’s components, supporting convenience and a balanced lifestyle. The recognition also reinforces Filinvest City’s status as Asia’s first and largest LEED- and BERDE-certified central business district.

Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel

Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel won Gold in the Purpose-Built category for its design that blends architecture, nature, and spirituality. Located in River Park, it sits on a natural hill and was designed by Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP Architects, creating a contemplative space within the urban landscape.

Another milestone for Philippine real estate

The awards highlight Filinvest Alabang’s long-term, sustainability-driven approach to development.

“This recognition affirms our vision of creating a city built around people and designed for the future,” said CEO Catherine Ilagan.

The wins mark a significant milestone for both Filinvest Alabang and Philippine real estate on the global stage.
