Colliers Philippines celebrated creativity at The Podium West Tower in Ortigas Center, transforming the office tower’s lobby into a space for artistic expression, connection, and inclusion through a two-day corporate social responsibility initiative held on May 28 and 29.
The company’s initiative Beyond Ability: An Art Journey brought together neurodivergent individuals, artists, volunteers, and members of the community in a celebration of talent and self-expression. The program was organized by Colliers’ Office Services – Landlord Representation in partnership with Best Buddies Philippines, Vico’s Artism Gallery, and Missionary Families of Christ (MFC) Singles, with support from UP SUPER, Founder’s Donuts, and Mysip Juice.

The event underscored how art can serve as a platform for engagement and understanding, creating opportunities for participants from diverse backgrounds to interact, collaborate, and share meaningful experiences.
The first day focused on hands-on creative activities, with neurodivergent participants taking part in a guided painting session with a flower theme. Assisted by their buddies, who provided encouragement and support throughout the activity, participants were given the freedom to interpret the theme in their own way and translate their ideas onto canvas.

Under the guidance of Ryan Maagma, art therapist and mentor at Vico’s Artism Gallery, the artists explored their creativity through individual expression. The session extended beyond the creation of artworks, fostering confidence, conversation, and stronger connections among participants and volunteers.
The following day shifted the spotlight to the completed pieces as a ribbon-cutting ceremony formally opened the exhibit. The unveiling allowed guests not only to view the finished works but also to recognize the artists behind them and the stories reflected in each creation.

According to Michelle Aventajado, executive director of Best Buddies Philippines, the event marked the first time such a large-scale and inclusive initiative had been mounted, making it a significant milestone for both the organizers and the participating artists.
Following the gallery opening, guests were invited to browse and purchase the artworks. The exhibit became a showcase of artistic talent and a fundraising opportunity that supports future community-based and inclusion-focused programs.
Through “Beyond Ability: An Art Journey,” Colliers and its partners demonstrated the role of art in encouraging empathy, promoting understanding, and creating environments where individuals feel recognized, valued, and celebrated.

The initiative’s success also reflected the collective commitment of organizers, partners, and supporters to continue championing diversity and empowering individuals through creative expression.
Colliers expressed its appreciation to the participants, volunteers, partner organizations, and guests whose contributions helped make the event a meaningful celebration of inclusion and community through art.
