Rockwell brings signature retail to Pampanga with Power Plant Mall Angeles milestone

A familiar rhythm of city living is beginning to take shape in Central Luzon, where curated retail, dining, and lifestyle experiences are within easy reach. The region is set to get a taste of Rockwell’s signature shopping experience as Rockwell Land and Juan D. Nepomuceno Realty move closer to bringing this vision to reality with Power Plant Mall Angeles.

The mall recently reached a key milestone with its topping-off, marking a major step toward its expected opening in the third quarter of 2027, offering an early glimpse of the lifestyle-driven development beyond Metro Manila.

A familiar experience, reimagined

Power Plant Mall Angeles’ topping off ceremony was led by (from left) Mr. Eugenio L. Lopez III; JDN Realty Chairman, Mr. Arsenio N. Valdes; JDN Realty Chairman Emeritus, Engr. Peter G. Nepomuceno; Angeles City Mayor, Carmelo G. Lazatin II; Rockwell Land Chairman and CEO, Mr. Nestor J. Padilla; and Rockwell Land Treasurer and Senior Vice President for Office Development, Mr. Miguel Ernesto L. Lopez. The event marked the structural completion of Power Plant Mall Angeles in Rockwell at Nepo Center, slated to open in Q3 of 2027.

The March 10 topping-off ceremony brought together company executives, local officials, partners, and prospective tenants, giving attendees a preview of the mall’s iconic atmosphere. Covering around 32,000 square meters of leasable space, it will feature a curated mix of international and local brands, daily essentials, and an al fresco dining area that celebrates Pampanga’s culinary heritage.

“Our goal is to blend our signature retail mix with local flavors, ensuring a destination that resonates with the Kapampangan community,” said Tin Coqueiro, Rockwell Land Vice President for Retail Development.

Sample floor layouts and storefront mock-ups were also placed to offer a preview of R1’s retail spaces, envisioned for a curated selection of well-loved fashion brands that will soon come to Pampanga.

Anchoring a growing mixed-use estate

Power Plant Mall Angeles serves as the main attraction of Rockwell at Nepo Center, a 4.6-hectare mixed-use development. It forms part of the estate’s ongoing development, following its groundbreaking in October 2023 and progressing alongside the residential components. The rollout reflects a phased approach, with each element introduced in step with the community’s growth and evolving demand.

The estate includes residential towers such as The Manansala, which is now fully sold and being turned over, as well as The BenCab and The Aurelio, which continue to draw strong buyer interest. Across the development, spaces are designed to emphasize walkability and convenience while maintaining a distinct sense of place, reflecting Rockwell’s holistic approach to community building.

Expanding the vision

Responding to positive market reception, the joint venture plans to expand by an additional 9,000 square meters, enhancing both the mall and the surrounding estate. “We are already planning on expanding the mall and adding other components that will make the development even more exciting,” said Nestor Padilla, Chairman and CEO of Rockwell Land.

Power Plant Mall Angeles is shaping up as more than a retail destination, representing a lifestyle-driven approach to urban growth and bringing integrated living, curated experiences, and thoughtful design to a city now firmly at the forefront of regional development.
