MREIT, Inc., the real estate investment trust arm of Megaworld, is set to introduce a new innovation-focused development within its McKinley Hill township in Taguig City through a partnership with global media and technology platform e27. The collaboration will support the rollout of what is positioned as the country’s first Digital Park, designed to serve as a dedicated hub for startups and emerging enterprises.
At the core of the partnership is the establishment of a pilot innovation hub that will cater to founders, investors, and industry enablers. The space is envisioned as a platform where ideas, resources, and networks converge, offering startups an environment that supports growth and collaboration within an integrated township.
Scheduled to open in 2026, Digital Park will feature close to 2,000 square meters of flexible workspace. The facility will include meeting rooms, conference areas, function spaces, and adaptable work zones, creating a workplace environment that supports early-stage ventures and expanding businesses. The development also aims to extend beyond its core users, positioning itself as a community hub accessible to office tenants, students, and residents within McKinley Hill, as well as regional startups looking for a foothold in the Philippines.
The partnership between MREIT and e27 is structured to unfold in phases, beginning with the identification of key stakeholders, followed by formal collaborations with investors, accelerators, and corporate partners. This will be complemented by ongoing programming such as networking events, mentorship sessions, and industry engagements intended to sustain activity within the hub and foster a dynamic startup community.
“We are proud to welcome e27 as our strategic partner for technology and innovation in McKinley Hill. As a thriving hub for diverse local and multinational firms, our township is the perfect setting to ignite growth for local startup businesses. Together, we are building vibrant, collaborative ecosystems to support the Philippines’ next generation of startups, empowering them to scale their ideas and shape the future of innovation,” said Jose Arnulfo Batac, President and CEO of MREIT, Inc.
“MREIT’s infrastructure transforms our regional playbook from event-driven engagement to a permanent, embedded presence. By anchoring within township communities, we are creating continuous founder support—through weekly mentorship, investor access, and skills development—rather than quarterly engagements,” said Mohan Belani, CEO and co-founder of e27.
The McKinley Hill Digital Park is expected to serve as the initial site for a broader rollout of innovation hubs across Megaworld townships. Future expansions are also being considered in developments such as Eastwood City, Southwoods City, Capital Town, and Iloilo Business Park, extending the model to other key locations nationwide.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Singapore, e27 focuses on strengthening Southeast Asia’s startup ecosystem by connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and corporate stakeholders through platforms that enable collaboration and knowledge exchange.
