Filinvest Group and Ateneo de Manila University have strengthened their ties through a new partnership that will give students hands-on industry experience across some of the country’s key business sectors.
Formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed on June 24 at Ateneo’s Faber Hall, the collaboration establishes a structured internship program under the university’s Office of Placement and Career Services (OPCS). Students will have opportunities for work-based learning within Filinvest’s businesses spanning real estate, banking, hospitality, power, and utilities.
The initiative aims to bridge classroom learning with real-world experience to help students develop practical skills, industry knowledge, and leadership capabilities while preparing them for future careers.
In a video message, Filinvest Land, Inc. President and CEO Tristan Las Marias, an Ateneo alumnus, underscored the shared purpose behind the collaboration.
“We are investing in the same thing—people, their formation, their future, and their capacity to lead with integrity.”
Filinvest Group First Vice President and Head of HR Strategy & Excellence Sheriben Paraguas also highlighted the alignment between the university’s educational approach and the company’s people-focused culture.
“Where these strengths come together, something neither of us could accomplish alone becomes possible: learning enriched by practice, and practice guided by deeper purpose. Together, we help form not only capable professionals but whole persons prepared in mind, grounded in values, and ready to serve,” she said.
Beyond providing internship placements, the partnership is expected to strengthen Ateneo’s experiential learning initiatives while supporting Filinvest’s long-term talent development strategy by fostering early engagement with future professionals.
