PhilSTAR Property attended Opulence Design Concept’s Women’s Month event, and found a space that goes beyond retail.
It wasn’t the plan to arrive early—but needing a place to work before the event led to an unexpected discovery. Within the Greenbelt 5 showroom is Opulence Caffè, a quiet corner that offered just enough pause before the evening’s program. With a cup of tea in hand, it became a moment to sit, work, and take in the space—an introduction to what Opulence does best.
Because beyond being a destination for premium home décor, Opulence Design Concept is designed as an experience.

Walking through the showroom, each vignette unfolds with its own distinct personality—defined by bold contrasts, sculptural forms, and expressive color palettes. The space does not follow a single design direction. Instead, it invites exploration. Moving from one setting to another becomes less about viewing pieces and more about discovering what resonates.
It’s a subtle but important shift: from curated display to personal connection.
This sense of discovery carried into the evening’s event, which brought together women across industries to celebrate how their work and perspectives shape spaces and communities.

At the center of the showroom is a vignette curated by the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers (PIID) National President, IDr. Cecil Ravelas, inspired by the bold and expressive language of Jonathan Adler. Her perspective reframes design as something deeply individual—an extension of identity rather than a set of rules.
“But now, the current journey is going back to discovering ourselves and being able to express our individuality,” Ravelas shared. “And by doing so, just choosing a few pieces is practically expressing yourself and owning your voice.”

She emphasized that design goes beyond aesthetics. “There is no right or wrong… a well-designed space may look nice, but more importantly, it should reflect the personality of the user.”
For Ravelas, the role of a designer is not to dictate, but to guide. “More often, clients may not be brave. My role is to help you find your voice—for you to own it. Because at the end of the day, you’re going to own the space, you’re going to live in it.”

Her reflections also pointed to a quieter strength shaping design today—one that values adaptability and intention. “The strength we have may seem soft to others, but that softness is like water—it can surpass or withstand anything. We adapt.”
At Opulence, design is not simply presented—it is experienced. And in that experience, it becomes something more personal: a way of understanding not just how a space looks, but how it feels—and ultimately, how it reflects the person who lives in it.
