PhilSTAR Property widens the lens on real estate — from structures and markets to the communities and everyday lives they shape.
Seven years ago, The Philippine STAR launched a property section to reflect the growing importance of real estate in the country’s development. Since then, it has evolved from reporting on projects to examining the communities and lifestyles shaping how Filipinos live today.
This anniversary marks both a milestone and a transition. As the property landscape expands from homes as structures to homes as lived experiences, Property Report becomes PhilSTAR Property.
This change is not about leaving something behind. It is about widening the lens. Anchored by the strength and credibility of The Philippine STAR, PhilSTAR Property reflects a broader view of real estate—one that recognizes how deeply property is connected to business, culture, infrastructure, and everyday life. My hope is that this platform continues to serve readers not just as a guide to the market, but as a way to understand the forces shaping the country’s future.
Our theme this year is “Gaining Ground.” It was chosen early, but as global challenges unfolded and uncertainty deepened, I found myself questioning whether it still fit the moment. The phrase suddenly felt almost too optimistic—perhaps even out of step with what many were experiencing. I considered replacing it with something quieter, something more cautious.
But the more I reflected, the more I realized that gaining ground does not mean advancing without difficulty. It means making the effort to move forward despite it. It is persistence rather than momentum alone—steady progress even when conditions are less than ideal.
As I reviewed the stories in this issue, that idea revealed itself in many forms. Developers continue to invest in long-term communities. Infrastructure is reshaping emerging growth corridors. Offices are adapting to new ways of working. Housing is evolving alongside changing aspirations. Cultural and wellness spaces are gaining importance. Even amid global headwinds, planning, building, and imagining the future continue.
These stories remind us that progress is not always dramatic. Sometimes, it is quiet and deliberate.
For me, this anniversary is less about looking back and more about reaffirming why this platform exists. PhilSTAR Property will continue to document where growth is happening, where ideas are taking root, and how the built environment shapes everyday life across the country.
Gaining ground, together, is not only about land or markets. It is about resilience, shared effort, and the decision to keep moving forward—thoughtfully and deliberately—no matter what the circumstances are.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. I invite you to explore this anniversary issue and discover the many ways the Philippines continues to gain ground.
