The municipal government of Balete describes the 13-plus-kilometer descent to Balete from Lipa City, leading to a panoramic view of Lake Taal and the volcano, as “nature’s gift to cyclists”.
It also identified the Palsara Bridge, Taal Lake Circumferential Road, and the Balete River as areas that not only offer scenic biking routes but are also alluring backdrops for travel and outdoor photography.
“On the way back, bikers could opt to ascend towards Barangay Kinalaglagan, Mataas na Kahoy, or Barangay Tanguay, Lipa City—relatively shorter routes but with steeper, more challenging inclines,” the Municipal Government of Balete said on its website.
It added that the sides of the concrete and asphalt road are peppered with convenience stores, which provide bikers a place to rest, to hydrate, and to appreciate the charm of suburban zen.
